The SimpliFi Wealth Story

A Story Of Purpose & Faith

Before SimpliFi Wealth was born, it was a dream I had in college rooted in a desire to help others understand money and use it as a tool for freedom. But like so many dreams, life’s realities took hold. Financial stability, and a lucrative and successful career became my priorities, and the dream was deferred.

However, I didn’t stray too far. After college, I became a financial advisor, helping clients plan for their future. I loved the work, but I eventually realized that many of the systems designed to support people’s financial growth weren’t built to empower them — especially those without access to generational wealth or institutional knowledge.

I grew disheartened with the system, and so I pivoted. I went back to school and became an attorney specializing in securities law. I spent the next 12 years examining and enforcing laws pertaining to broker-dealers, investment advisers and investment companies — mostly with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. I saw firsthand how complex the financial systems had become, while I was personally thriving financially using a far simpler system.

I worked hard, excelled, received accolades, and eventually reached what many would consider to be the height of my profession, advising some of the world’s most prominent hedge fund and private equity fund advisers in private practice while at a premiere law firm. By all external measures, I had “made it.”

And yet, even at the top, something felt off. Despite the prestige, the accolades, and the financial rewards, there was something in me that was still unsettled. More and more I felt pulled toward helping people find peace with their own finances. Toward helping others live simpler, more free and purpose-filled lives. And so I did. I voluntarily helped those in need of financial guidance.

Along my journey through the securities industry, I continued to voluntarily guide people along their financial journey. During those many sessions, I witnessed a consistent truth: income and access to financial knowledge aren’t guarantees that you’ll have a healthy relationship with money. Even the most accomplished professionals often struggle to align their financial decisions with their deeper values, priorities, and purpose.

Eventually, I realized that success without alignment, at this stage of life, had left me feeling unfulfilled. The call I once ignored — to guide others toward financial peace and purpose — had never truly gone away. It had simply been waiting for me to summon the courage to answer it, and embrace it with the same effort and fervor that I put into my legal career .

So, I did something radical. I walked away from it all! The big firm. The title. The salary. From the comfort and predictability of my career. I chose to start over — not from nothing, but from conviction. It was sudden, but I was prepared — at least financially. Years of wise stewardship, consistency and planning gave me the freedom to pursue purpose. And that’s what I now have the pleasure of helping my clients and others do.

That’s how SimpliFi Wealth was born. Here, we believe real financial success isn’t found in complexity — it’s found in clarity, confidence, and purpose. Money should facilitate peace, not pressure.

I use the institutional knowledge that I’ve learned along the way to help clients transform their relationship with money by simplifying their financial lives, aligning their money with what truly matters to them, and equipping them with the financial skills necessary to create the kind of wealth that lasts — not just in assets, but in legacy, generosity, joy, financial peace, and a life rooted in purpose.
